In the field of electrical equipment, DC screen is one of the key equipment to ensure the stable operation of the power system. However, there are many different types of DC screens on the market, and there are many differences between them. Let's take a closer look today.
Differences by charging module type
1. High-frequency switch charging module DC screen
The high-frequency switch charging module uses high-frequency switching technology to convert AC power into DC power. This type of DC screen has the characteristics of high conversion efficiency. It can greatly reduce energy loss, thereby saving energy. Moreover, the high-frequency switch module has a fast response speed. When the grid voltage fluctuates or the load changes, it can quickly adjust the output voltage to maintain the stability of the DC output. For example, in some data centers with high requirements for voltage stability, the high-frequency switch charging module DC screen can effectively ensure the stable power supply of equipment such as servers, avoiding data loss or equipment damage caused by voltage fluctuations.
2. Phase-controlled charging module DC screen
The phase-controlled charging module is based on thyristor phase-controlled rectification technology. Its advantage is that the technology is mature and it is widely used in early DC screen applications. In some specific industrial environments, the phase-controlled charging module DC screen still has certain application value if there are certain requirements for cost and the response speed requirements for voltage adjustment are not extremely high. However, the disadvantages of the phase-controlled charging module are also obvious. Its conversion efficiency is relatively low, and it will generate more heat during operation, requiring better heat dissipation measures. In addition, its power factor is relatively low, and the harmonic pollution to the power grid may be greater.
Differences by monitoring system function
1. Simple monitoring DC screen
The monitoring system function of this type of DC screen is relatively basic, mainly monitoring some basic parameters of the DC screen, such as voltage and current. It can display these parameters in real time, and when the parameters exceed the normal range, it can issue a simple alarm signal, such as sound and light alarm. Simple monitoring DC screen is suitable for some small places where the requirements for DC power supply system are not particularly complex, such as small distribution rooms, etc. It can meet the basic operation status monitoring needs.
2. Intelligent monitoring DC screen
The intelligent monitoring DC screen has more powerful monitoring functions. In addition to basic parameter monitoring, it can also perform detailed analysis of the working status of various components such as charging modules and batteries. For example, it can monitor key information such as the internal resistance and remaining capacity of the battery, and predict the health status and remaining service life of the battery through built-in algorithms. Moreover, the intelligent monitoring DC screen can realize the remote monitoring function, transmit data to the control center through the network, and the operation and maintenance personnel can operate and manage the DC screen remotely, which greatly improves the operation and maintenance efficiency for large power stations, large data centers and other places with wide distribution and numerous equipment.
Differences by battery type
1. Lead-acid battery DC screen
Lead-acid battery DC screen is a more traditional one. Lead-acid batteries have the advantages of low cost and mature technology, and are widely used in some projects that are more cost-sensitive. It has a wide capacity range and can meet the DC power supply needs of different scales. However, lead-acid batteries are large in size and heavy in weight, requiring a large installation space, and their energy density is relatively low, the charging time is long, and the service life will also be greatly affected by factors such as the ambient temperature of use. In terms of maintenance, it is necessary to regularly check the electrolyte level and specific gravity.
2. Lithium battery DC screen
Lithium battery DC screen has become more and more popular in recent years. Lithium batteries have the advantages of high energy density, smaller size and lighter weight at the same capacity, which makes the overall layout of the DC screen more compact. Lithium batteries charge quickly and can restore power in a short time. They also have a low self-discharge rate and can maintain a good power level even in long-term standby mode. In addition, lithium batteries have a relatively long service life and are relatively less affected by ambient temperature. However, the cost of lithium batteries is relatively high, and the requirements for the charging management system are more stringent, requiring more complex protection circuits to prevent overcharging, over-discharging, etc.
Understanding these differences between different DC panels can help us make more appropriate decisions when choosing DC panels based on actual application scenarios, budgets, requirements for power supply stability and functions, and other factors, thereby ensuring the reliable operation of the power system.
